1 DAY TOUR ON VESPA
WITH ROAD BOOK

A Vespa is the ideal way to breathe in the scents of the mountains and explore every lane while admiring a breath-taking 360° view at the foot of the Dolomites.

A tour that takes you through pristine forests on the slopes of the Dolomites. A widely customizable path with a thousand variations. The Cansiglio is a real reality in its own right and exploring this area by renting a Vespa will leave you speechless with the serenity of driving on roads with little traffic but with significant gradients.

Interesting Facts and Local Culture

The Cansiglio Forest was a treasure trove for the Republic of Venice, which used the enormous trees to make the oars for their warships. Even today it is one of the most important natural resources in the Veneto. Populated by thousands of deer, in the rutting season of September excursions are organised at dusk to listen to their bellows.
From the top of Monte Pizzoc, at 1500 m a.s.l., you can admire the entire Veneto region as far as Venice, and the amphitheatre of the UNESCO Dolomites.

Itinerary

Departing from Vittorio Veneto you come to the Santa Croce Lake and can make a stop at the Baia delle Sirene; turquoise water and a kiosk for refreshment with a view of the Dolomites forming a backdrop to the lake.
Then up into Alpago, passing through small towns and uncontaminated hamlets like Tambre, Lamosano, Pieve d’Alpago and Spert. Go on to Sant’Anna and Colindes and the fairy-tale ‘house of books’; a house hewn out of wood and shaped like a book.
Then on to the Cansiglio Natural Park, coasting the Alpago mountains. The view of the huge Cansiglio plateau surrounded by its forest is an unforgettable experience.
You can take the road up to Monte Pizzoc, at 1500 metres a.s.l.
The last stop is at the Caglieron Caves: in 30 minutes you can visit a spectacular site, ranked third in a national survey of the most fantastic places to visit in Italy.

Food and Wine

You will be able to choose typical local dishes served by several mountain dairy huts: venison, freshly-made polenta, dairy cheese, Patin (spicy grilled minced meat).
Some great ideas: eat at Casera ‘alle Rotte’ with a spectacular panorama, or ‘la Huta’ Restaurant, or taste the famous sandwiches prepared by the ‘al Fogher’ restaurant at Spert.
